In Texas he is often referred to as the Chaparral. The Roadrunner is a very effective predator. The Roadrunner is built for speed with its long legs and sleek body. They have been clocked at speeds of nearly 20 mph. When their curiosity is aroused their head crests are raised along with their uplifted tail. He can fly but he usually doesn’t.
