The Texas Black tailed jackrabbit is a member of the Hare family. Always on guard the Jackrabbit depends on its keen sense of hearing and sight to elude predators. His powerful hind legs provide the power and quickness to escape when threatened. When danger is sensed, the Jackrabbit will crouch and lay its long ears down. In this sculpture "Texas Jack" is barely hidden in a clump of Prickly Pear.
